A Bit of Birding…
It’s Summer in the suburbs (almost) and that means bird calls, everywhere, all day, waking us up FIRST thing in the morning (like it or not) and ending only when the moon comes up. And even then, who who who asks the hoot owl. Who what? I ask him, but he never answers. twe twe twe whistles the tufted titmouse and ayt ayt ayt ayt is harshly evoked by the blue jay. The crows are even harsher with their aww aww aww. There, I hear a warbler trilling and a wren dweeting?? dweet dweet dweet. That’s the flutelike wood thrush more like a lullaby and then, friends, there’s the northern red cardinal (haha) whoeat whoeat whoeat…
